To kick off my series on traditional storytelling character types we have the classic hero, almost too good to be true.
Perhaps atoning for some non-specific past sins, or just playing witness to humanity's inhumanity to man and deciding not to partake, this is a tried and true hero. He sees evil that needs to be fought, and dedicates himself to its destruction.
Villains come, but everyone knows that evil never triumphs. Damsels and friends might find themselves in tight spots, but never fear! We all know that the second before the axe falls this hero will swoop in and save the day with impossible timing.
This is no batman, he's not a dark and twisted soul, this guy is the real deal. Pure of spirit, and strong willed enough to conquer the world's unambiguous evils with gusto. He'll keep fighting because it's right, a man who can't be beaten by the forces of darkness. A pure hero, one that rarely falters, never falls.
Powers include- -Looking pretty all the damn time -Always having something comforting to say when things are looking grim -Catchphrases -Last minute rescues -sparkling smile -Being a champion of all that is good and pure, and fluffy, and chocolate coated, and cream filled, adorableness.
Weaknesses include- -Villains who aren't retarded, and actually intend to cause mass destruction, death, or mayhem in a non circuitous manner (A.K.A. No death rays or rays of any kind) -Guns -Ambiguity, don't get any grey on his pure white soul. -femme fatales, this guy is a sucker for sexy.
