Half Dragon, Half Girl O.O WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE? I want one! (It's okay to stare at the nipples, that's what they were drawn for) I submitted this because I promised no one in particular a drawing a day AND THEY ARE GOING TO GET IT *Tearing up with pride*
Now for a Rant... Something I've lovingly titled- ANIME: THE CANCER OF DA If you have weak bowel control read no further --------------------------------
Actually this picture makes me cringe, I don't like anime style. But I've been "encouraged" (translation: Throttled to submission) by some of my friends into practicing anime, and this was just a quick sketch of mine.
I don't like it, because there are 70,000+ other anthro pictures of similar quality clogging the arteries of Deviant Art. Maybe I'm making an Otaku's head explode by writing this (I don't believe in fairies!) but with very few exceptions, Anime style isn't all that. (DON'T KILL ME! I SAID THAT THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS) Mainly it's a dirty little thing for teenage girls and Japanophiles to crawl lovingly in their notebooks until reality kicks their ass and they get a job and culture of their own. Very few artists have the skill to make anime into something special, but EVERYTHING thinks that they are that .002% minority O.e
Believe me, I've lived and worked in Japan. Once the novelty of the style as something "foreign" wears off, you can see most Anime for what it really is... trashy, easy to draw, brightly colored, meh. The aesthetic equivalent to parsley, its all over the place (on my food mainly), tasteless, pointless, and only a master chef can do ANYTHING decent with it (and even that usually isn't much)
anyway, the picture itself isnt that bad. nice hair/hands/feet.
Anime's not as bad as you make it out to be, either. I understand where you're coming from, but it's still not as bad as you make it out to be.
