I'm standing beside a wooded road, unable to find my way home when an old man comes along and gives me directions to take a dirt path deeper into the woods. I follow his advice only to realize I'm now traveling with a male companion totally different from the old man. The path leads us beneath the roots of a massive tree. We are forced onto our stomachs to crawl beneath the roots and must dig out some of the soil to make room for us. The scent of wet soil is strong in my nostrils. A claustrophic sense consumes me. The path under the tree leads us out next to an azure lake that is such a vivid, ethereal shade

A dream that I needed to sketch

I swam through oily swelling waves
where struggling with weakening breath
I gasped above those soiled graves
and saw the depths that lead to death

I felt dim shapes passing near
reaching close, feeling more
reaching closer, tasting fear
as I was crying for the shore.

Slipping further, spiraling deep
as monstrous fears from the dark flee
In my horrible unending sleep
what laid below, I could not see.
